In a dystopian world where every resource—from food to shelter—is traded for 'Existence Value,' those with low scores are deemed 'useless humans' and face grim fates. When two roommates find their survival on the line, an unlikely bond forms between a gentle, kind-hearted man and a mysterious stranger who challenges everything he knows. This short but emotionally charged Chinese BL miniseries adapts a popular manhua, weaving a tale of love and resilience against a cold, transactional society. Despite censorship, the story captures raw intimacy and the fight for human connection, making it a poignant gem for fans of sci-fi romance.

I'm a sucker for a good dystopian romance and this little gem delivered! The chemistry between the leads was incredible even with barely any skinship. The way they looked at each other said everything. I just wish it were longer—I need more of their story!

The concept of 'Existence Value' is intriguing but the execution in just 2 episodes feels rushed. The world-building is paper-thin and the romance develops too quickly without any real obstacles. It's a decent watch if you have 40 minutes to kill, but don't expect depth.

For a low-budget short series, the cinematography is surprisingly moody and effective. The cold color palette perfectly mirrors the dystopian setting, and the close-ups capture raw emotion. Some shots felt like they belonged in a bigger production. A visual treat despite the limited runtime.

I appreciate the attempt to critique a society that commodifies human worth, but the power dynamics between the leads are lightly problematic. The 'nice guy' lead seems to have no agency, and the narrative doesn't fully address consent in such a transactional world. Still, it's a conversation starter.

The background score really elevates the emotional beats. There's a haunting piano motif that plays during the intimate scenes—it stuck with me long after the credits rolled. For such a short series, the music team did a fantastic job setting the tone.
