Hidden Agenda is a refreshingly grounded Thai BL that peels back the layers of a classic 'fake dating advice' premise to reveal a tender, character-driven romance. University student Zo has harbored a quiet crush on his senior Nita for years, but never had the courage to act on it. Encouraged by his friends, he decides to finally confess his feelings—but he's completely clueless about how to actually date. Enter Joke, Nita's charismatic ex-boyfriend and a member of the university's debate club. Desperate for a shot at love, Zo approaches Joke for dating advice, unaware that Joke has his own hidden agenda: he's secretly been drawn to Zo for a while. Joke agrees to help Zo win over Nita, but only in exchange for Zo joining the debate club. What follows is a slow-burn journey of two people navigating blurred lines, conflicting emotions, and the quiet thrill of discovering that the person you're trying to become is already the one you need. Set against a warm university backdrop, the series avoids over-the-top drama in favor of realistic, nuanced storytelling. Zo's internal struggle with insecurity and parental pressure, coupled with Joke's own family disappointments, creates a beautifully layered narrative about self-acceptance and the courage to be honest with yourself. The dialogue feels natural, the conflicts are resolved through communication rather than miscommunication tropes, and the supporting characters—including Zo's loyal friends and the sweet second couple Jeng and Pok—add depth without stealing focus. What makes Hidden Agenda special is its emotional honesty: it's not just about falling in love, but about learning to trust your own heart.

I absolutely adored this drama! Joong and Dunk have this incredible natural chemistry that just makes my heart flutter. Every time they looked at each other, I felt like I was intruding on something private and beautiful. The way Zo slowly realizes his feelings for Joke instead of Nita was so relatable and sweet. And the kisses? Wow. They felt real, not like typical manufactured BL kisses. This is my new comfort show for sure. If you love soft, sincere romance with zero toxic communication, you need to watch Hidden Agenda.

Look, I get why people enjoy this show—the leads have decent chemistry and it's a cute fluff piece. But let's be real: the plot is paper-thin and drags terribly. The whole debate club subplot is abandoned for episodes at a time, and the conflicts feel manufactured just to pad out the episode count. They could have easily told this story in 8 episodes. The side couple gets almost no development, which is a shame because they seemed interesting. I didn't hate it, but it's not anywhere near the best GMMTV has to offer. Watch if you need a brainless romance, but don't expect depth.

I came for the romance but stayed for the cinematography. Hidden Agenda is visually stunning—the soft, dreamy lighting, the pastel color grading, the intimate framing of close-ups during emotional scenes. Even simple conversations feel cinematic because of how the camera lingers on the actors' micro-expressions. The scene where Zo and Joke first kiss in the rain? Gorgeously shot, with reflections and shallow depth of field that made my heart ache. GMMTV usually has decent production, but this one really stepped up the visual storytelling. A treat for the eyes.

I have to give credit to the soundtrack—it really sets the mood. The main theme is catchy and romantic, but what stood out to me was the background score. It's subtle, never overpowering, and perfectly complements the emotional beats. There's a particular piano piece that plays during the more vulnerable moments between Zo and Joke that still gives me chills. That said, the sound mixing could have been better; sometimes the dialogue got a bit lost. Overall, a solid OST that enhances the viewing experience without being intrusive.

What a pleasant surprise! I went in expecting a typical fluffy BL but found a thoughtful exploration of family pressure, emotional neglect, and the quiet normalization of homophobia. Joke's backstory with his father resonated deeply—the way he learns to set boundaries and Zo teaches him that he deserves love without conditions. I also appreciated that the female characters (Nita and Zo's mom) weren't villains; they had their own struggles. The series shows healthy communication and consent beautifully. It handles the topic of coming out with nuance, showing both progress and lingering societal discomfort. A rare BL that respects its audience's intelligence.

Okay, I'll admit the main couple is cute, but Jeng and Pok stole my heart! Their dynamic had so much more tension and emotional weight. The way Jeng struggles with internalized homophobia and Pok's quiet insecurity—that 'Sorry that I'm a man' line hit me hard. I wish they got more screen time and a proper resolution because their story felt more complex than the main one. Even with limited scenes, Aou and Boom's chemistry was off the charts. Please give them their own series! If you love a side couple with angst and redemption potential, this is for you.
