In the bustling heart of Hong Kong during the Lunar New Year, ex-couple He He (Pan Zhuo Lun) and He Xing (Jack Fung) are unexpectedly thrust back into each other's lives after a chance encounter at a crowded flower market. What begins as awkward small talk quickly spirals into a heartfelt and hilarious reunion as they navigate old wounds, lingering feelings, and a tangled web of friendships and infidelity. Over the course of two beautifully compact episodes, this miniseries captures the messy, tender, and often comedic process of rediscovering love with an ex. Set against fireworks and festive red decorations, HEHE&HE offers a rare, grounded portrayal of gay romance in Hong Kong, blending lighthearted banter with genuine emotional stakes. Perfect for a cozy binge, it’s a festive treat for anyone who believes second chances come wrapped in the most unexpected packages.

I'm absolutely melting over He He and He Xing! Their awkward-to-sweet reunion felt so genuine—every glance and touch made my heart flutter. The Lunar New Year setting was the perfect cherry on top. This is why I love BL: two people finding their way back to each other against all odds.

The chemistry is fine, but the plot feels rushed even for a miniseries. The infidelity subplot is introduced and resolved too quickly, and some of the comedic beats land flat. It's a decent watch if you need something short, but don't expect a deep narrative.

What a visual treat! The warm reds and golds of the New Year decorations contrast beautifully with the cool blues of night scenes. The director uses tight close-ups to capture every micro-expression between the leads. For a low-budget series, the lighting and color grading are surprisingly polished.

I appreciate that the show addresses past infidelity without villainizing either character—it shows growth and communication. However, I wish they'd spent more time on the emotional aftermath rather than glossing over it with comedy. Still, it's refreshing to see a gay relationship handled with maturity in a Hong Kong context.

The background score is lovely—soft piano and acoustic guitar that perfectly mirror the bittersweet tone. The opening theme song is stuck in my head for days! Music elevates every emotional beat, especially the market scene where they first reconnect. A hidden gem for BL OST collectors.
