HeartBreak Mountain is a wildly unpredictable Filipino BL miniseries that defies genre conventions. When a heartbroken fairy unleashes a vengeful spell, turning his unfaithful lover and the man's new boyfriend into enchanted sex slaves, the story spirals into a bizarre mix of supernatural melodrama and dark comedy. As the fairy discovers a shocking secret behind the supposed betrayal, the lines between victim and villain blur. Packed with campy performances, over-the-top magical sequences, and a uniquely Filipino flair for blending horror with humor, this six-episode series offers a one-of-a-kind viewing experience that's equal parts baffling and entertaining.

I appreciate the attempt at originality, but the execution is a mess. The pacing is glacial—do we really need a full minute of a fairy waving his hands? The red-eye contacts and slow walks are laughably dated. The plot twist at the end is the only thing that kept me watching, but it wasn't worth the slog.

As a fan of BL I want to support diverse stories, but this one crossed a line for me. The whole 'sex slave' premise is framed as a joke, yet it's built on non-consent and magical coercion. Even for comedy, it felt uncomfortable and irresponsible. The acting and editing didn't help either.

The cinematography is incredibly static—most scenes are just characters standing or walking slowly. There's no attempt at dynamic camera work. The one interesting choice was the intense dramatic music played over mundane actions; it was so over-the-top that it became unintentionally hilarious. Not good, but not boring.

I honestly loved how insane this was. It's like a fever dream where a fairy gets revenge by turning guys into horny zombies. The chemistry between the leads is minimal, but Jordan Gonzalez as the fairy brought so much campy energy. If you're in the mood for something that doesn't take itself seriously, this is a blast.

The soundtrack is the unsung hero of this show. The BGM is hilariously mismatched with the action—evil orchestral swells during a guy walking down a hill? Iconic. The opening theme is catchy too. Too bad the audio mixing is rough; sometimes the dialogue gets lost under the music. Still, the OST alone made me smile.
