Set against the fleeting beauty of the final year of high school, *He's Too Sweet on Me: Haruto's Unspoken Selfishness* delicately unravels the story of Haruto, a boy who has never understood the meaning of love. When the mysterious transfer student Asuka arrives, a seemingly playful 'pseudo-confession' ignites something neither of them expected. As graduation looms, Haruto finds himself caught in a tender web of unspoken feelings, awkward silences, and intimate moments that blur the line between friendship and romance. Filmed entirely in a vertical format that lends an intimate, diary-like quality, this series captures the heart-racing anxiety of first love and the quiet desperation of wanting to say something but being too afraid. With beautiful cinematography that turns everyday school corridors and rooftops into emotional landscapes, the drama explores the selfishness that comes with caring too much – and the painful sweetness of letting go. A must-watch for fans of slow-burn, melancholic romance that stays with you long after the final episode.

I'm completely wrecked. Haruto and Asuka's story felt so real – every glance, every hesitation broke my heart. The vertical format made me feel like I was peeking into their private world. The graduation scene had me sobbing. This is the sweetest, most painful BL I've seen in years.

I appreciate the emotional core, but the pacing is frustratingly slow. The 'pseudo-confession' premise is interesting but the series drags out the misunderstandings too long. Also, the vertical framing sometimes cuts off important background details. A decent watch if you're patient, but not groundbreaking.

The cinematography is stunning for a web series. The way they use the vertical frame to focus on eyes, hands, and small spaces – pure artistry. The color palette shifts from warm golds to cool blues as graduation approaches. A visual treat that elevates a simple love story.

I liked how the show handled the confusion of first love without pressuring any physical intimacy. Haruto's journey to understand his own feelings is refreshingly honest. However, I wish they had addressed the power dynamic of Asuka being the one who 'confessed' first – a bit more conversation about consent would have been welcome.

The soundtrack is incredible. The main theme plays during every major emotional beat and it never gets old – it perfectly captures the ache of wanting someone but not knowing how to say it. The background piano pieces are subtle but haunting. I've been streaming the OST nonstop.
