I went in expecting just a steamy film, but the emotional tension between Yu Hao and Hong Yu really got me. The physical scenes are scorching, but the real heat comes from their unspoken struggles. Could’ve used a stronger plot, but for raw passion, it delivers.

The concept of a mockumentary within a romance is interesting, but the execution is messy. Characters feel half-written, and the constant nudity starts to feel gratuitous after a while. I wanted more depth, not just another sex scene. Disappointing.

Visually, the film has some striking moments—the Chengdu setting and the intimate close-ups are beautifully shot. But the pacing drags in the middle, and the mockumentary angle never fully pays off. A decent watch for fans of adult BL, but not a masterpiece.

I appreciate the attempt to show a gay relationship without censorship, but the power dynamics and constant emotional manipulation left a bad taste. The sex scenes feel more performative than intimate, and there’s little discussion of consent. Not my kind of love story.

The soundtrack is actually quite moody and fits the melancholic Qingming Festival vibe well—I still hum a few tracks. But the story didn’t grab me enough to recommend it over other Chinese BL films. Average overall, with a few memorable musical moments.
