I absolutely adored the quiet romance between Enrico and Louie. Watching two older men navigate their secret love in a conservative setting felt so authentic and moving. The comedic subplot with Alvin and Kristine was cute too, but the fathers stole my heart. A hidden gem for anyone who loves heartfelt, mature love stories.

The film has its charms, but the pacing drags in the middle and some comedic scenes feel forced. The father's storyline is compelling, yet the resolution wraps up too neatly. It's a decent watch for historical context, but don't expect tight storytelling.

As a document of early Queer representation in Philippine cinema, 'Happy Hearts' is invaluable. It treats its gay characters with dignity, showing their love without exploitation. The humor sometimes undercuts the gravity, but its heart is in the right place. Highly recommend for those interested in LGBTQ+ film history.

The film's warm color palette and intimate framing capture the tropical setting beautifully. Some shots of the family home are lovingly composed. However, the production value shows its age with inconsistent lighting. Still, there's a nostalgic charm that adds to the emotional resonance.

The soundtrack includes some charming Filipino ballads that underscore the romantic moments nicely, but they're not particularly memorable. I wished the music had been used more dynamically to heighten the drama. The theme song is sweet, though a bit repetitive.
