In the bustling heart of Manila, two students from different faculties meet by chance on an elevated bridge—a symbolic crossing that will change their lives forever. Vince, a quiet ABM student, and Paolo, a spirited HUMSS learner, quickly bond over stolen moments and shared laughter, their connection deepening into a tender romance. But when Paolo discovers Vince is living with HIV—acquired through perinatal transmission—their relationship is tested. Rather than retreat in fear, Paolo chooses understanding and support, becoming Vince’s anchor. Yet Vince, grappling with internalized stigma and hopelessness, pushes him away, fearing he is a burden. This 10-minute Filipino short film, winner of Best Film at the MILK Film Fest 2019, weaves joy and sorrow into a poignant narrative about love, acceptance, and the fight against prejudice. With a soundtrack that shifts from hopeful melodies to somber chords, *Until the End* (original title: *Hanggang Dulo*) challenges misconceptions about HIV/AIDS while delivering a heartfelt, bittersweet story of two souls who—like a stolen wallet—end up stealing each other’s hearts.

I loved the music—'A Song for Wowie' and 'Oppressed' perfectly frame the shift from hope to sorrow. The acting is sincere and the message about HIV awareness is commendable. However, the ending felt too open and the depiction of HIV as a death sentence is medically outdated. Still, a touching short film that deserves praise for its intention.

My heart!!! This little film stole my heart in just 10 minutes. The way Paolo doesn't run away but stays and cares for Vince—that's real love. The bridge scene where they meet is so magical. I cried when Vince pushed him away. If you want a short but deep BL, watch this!

The film has good intentions but suffers from a flawed medical premise. HIV is not a death sentence in 2017 when this is set—Vince's resignation feels like a missed chance to educate about modern treatments. The acting and direction are solid, but the plot sacrifices accuracy for drama. Okay for a student thesis, but not a reliable resource.

Visually, the short is quite striking—the elevated bridge, the sunlight, the close-ups. The editing keeps the story tight. I appreciate the use of diegetic music. My only wish is that they'd explored more of Paolo's perspective after the revelation. Still, a commendable effort from new filmmakers.

I value how this film emphasizes consent and support around HIV disclosure. Paolo's reaction—not anger, but care—models healthy communication. However, Vince's decision to leave without discussing treatment options feels like a missed teachable moment about living well with HIV. Still, it opens important conversations about stigma and love.
