In the quiet corridors of a prestigious Korean high school, Woo Min seems to have it all: he's the son of a wealthy conglomerate president, blessed with good looks and natural talent. Yet beneath the surface of his privileged life, he remains an unassuming and down-to-earth teenager, longing for genuine connection rather than the hollow expectations of his family's fortune. Everything changes when a simple friendship with a classmate named (character name not given, let's say Ji Hoo) begins to stir feelings Woo Min has never confronted before. Their bond deepens beyond ordinary friendship, navigating the tender confusion of first love amidst the rigid social hierarchies of school and the suffocating pressures of home. Set against the backdrop of 2000s South Korea, *Goodbye Day* is a poignant and bittersweet exploration of young love, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to say goodbye to the life others have mapped out for you. With its raw emotional honesty and understated performances, this film captures the ache of first love and the quiet rebellion of choosing your own path.

I absolutely adored the quiet intimacy between Woo Min and Ji Hoo. There's something so pure about their stolen glances and hesitant touches – it's exactly the kind of tender first love story I crave. The ending broke me, but in the best way. A must-watch for anyone who loves emotional, slow-burn romances.

As an early Korean BL, I appreciate its importance, but the pacing is painfully slow and some side plots feel half-baked. The father-son conflict is interesting but underdeveloped. Still, the lead performances save it from being a total drag. It's okay for a one-time watch if you're into BL history.

The cinematography has this hazy, nostalgic quality that perfectly captures the loneliness of adolescence. Even though it's clearly a low-budget film from 2007, the framing and color palette are surprisingly beautiful. The scene by the river is stunning. I'd watch it again just for the visuals.

The soundtrack is subtle but effective – a simple piano theme that echoes the melancholy of the story. It's not a flashy OST, but it fits the mood perfectly. I found myself humming the main motif days after watching. Music lovers will appreciate how it enhances the emotional beats.

For its time, *Goodbye Day* handles the coming-out narrative with surprising sensitivity, though some power dynamics (wealth disparity, family pressure) feel unexamined. The romance is built on mutual respect, which I appreciated, but the lack of explicit consent conversations dates the film. Still, a valuable piece of queer media history.
