I am completely ruined. Duan Ye Lin and Xu Hang's dynamic is everything I've ever wanted in a BL – toxic, passionate, and utterly addictive. Every scene between them gives me chills. The way Duan Ye Lin looks at Xu Hang... I can't breathe. This is my new obsession.

While the chemistry is undeniable, the plot has gaping holes. The gang war storyline feels rushed and the motivations of side characters are barely explored. Also, the editing in the last few episodes was choppy. Still, the lead actors saved it from being a complete mess.

As a huge fan of the original novel, I was nervous about the adaptation. They changed some key scenes and toned down the violence, but surprisingly the emotional beats hit even harder on screen. The casting is perfect – both leads embody the characters perfectly. I wish they kept the novel's ending though.

I appreciate that the show doesn't shy away from showing the toxicity of the relationship, but it also romanticizes kidnapping and coercion without proper narrative critique. The male lead's behavior is repeatedly excused as 'love'. For a BL drama, it lacks any discussion of consent. Really problematic for me.

The fight choreography in this series is insane! Every action scene is beautifully shot and brutal. The warehouse showdown in episode 17 had me on the edge of my seat. Finally, a BL that gives equal weight to the crime and the romance. More of this, please!
