In the sun-drenched, rumor-filled hallways of a Filipino high school, 17-year-old Nico (Eugene Bernal) is captivated by the quiet, enigmatic Miguel (Ian Villapa). When Miguel suddenly vanishes without a trace—ghosting Nico after weeks of intense, secretive connection—Nico is left shattered and confused. Determined to understand why the boy he trusted disappeared, Nico embarks on a heartfelt journey through text chains, mutual friends, and faded memories. As he pieces together the fragments of their brief romance, Nico discovers that Miguel was hiding a painful secret that forced him to run. More than a simple love story, *Ghosted* is a tender exploration of teenage vulnerability, the weight of unspoken truths, and the courage it takes to believe in someone—even after they've let you go. Shot with a dreamy, intimate visual style that mirrors the haze of first love, this 10-episode Philippine miniseries captures the raw, awkward, and beautiful mess of being young and wanting to be seen.

I am absolutely wrecked. Nico and Miguel’s story felt like watching my own teenage diary come to life. The way they looked at each other, the hesitant texts, that one scene under the rain? I was screaming at my screen. Pure, unadulterated kilig even though it’s so bittersweet. If you want a romance that makes your heart ache in the best way, this is it.

I appreciate the slow-burn intention, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes—too many repetitive phone-screen montages and silent stares. The ghosting mystery is resolved too neatly, and some side characters feel like cardboard. It’s a decent watch if you're in the mood for a low-stakes teen drama, but don't expect tight storytelling.

The cinematography is the real MVP here. Soft golden-hour lighting, intimate close-ups, and creative use of phone-screen framing to show texting conversations—it’s visually poetic. The color palette shifts from warm to cool as Nico’s hope fades. A few handheld shots feel shaky, but overall, it’s a gorgeous little web series that proves you don’t need a big budget to create a mood.

I was pleasantly surprised by how the show handles emotional boundaries. It doesn’t romanticize the ghosting; instead, it gives Miguel a nuanced reason while still validating Nico’s pain. There’s a mature conversation about “needing space” and how that affects others. That said, I wish they had addressed the power imbalance more directly—Nico puts Miguel on a pedestal, and it’s barely critiqued. Still, a thoughtful effort for a YA BL.

The original soundtrack is on REPEAT. The main theme “Ghosted” by an indie Filipino band captures that lonely, longing vibe perfectly—I still get chills when it plays over the closing credits. The background score is minimal but effective, using guitar plucks and soft synth pads to underscore the emotional beats. I’m begging for an official Spotify release!
