Ghost Runner is a thrilling Thai BL series that dares to blend supernatural horror with the tender awkwardness of young love. When a group of student athletes arrives at a remote training camp in a forest school, they quickly realize something is very wrong. Strange apparitions, eerie sounds, and unexplained accidents plague the campers. At the center of the chaos are Hart and Pukphong, two boys whose growing bond becomes both a refuge and a target. As the haunting escalates, they must uncover the dark secrets buried on the campus—secrets involving spirits, a tragic past, and a surprising ally among the ghosts. This series stands out for its bold genre-mix and its refusal to follow the typical BL formula. With two emerging couples, a creepy atmosphere, and a mystery that keeps you guessing, Ghost Runner offers something rare: a ghost story where the love story isn't just decoration but the heart of the resolution. Far from perfect but full of ambition, it's a must-try for anyone craving a less conventional BL experience.

I'm a sucker for horror and BL, and this scratched an itch I didn't know I had. Hart and Pukphong's chemistry felt genuine, and I loved how their romance developed amidst the ghostly chaos. Sure, the production is rough, but the emotional moments really landed for me. The second couple was cute too! Definitely underrated.

I wanted to like this, but the plot holes and inconsistent pacing killed it. The mystery is telegraphed early, and the horror relies on tired tropes. The acting is passable, but the script needed more work. I appreciate the attempt at a non-university setting, but execution was lacking. I'd skip this.

The cinematography had its moments—the eerie forest shots and creepy music created a decent atmosphere. But the overuse of slow-motion and awkward framing ruined the immersion. The lighting was often flat. With better direction, the visual potential could have been realized. I liked the color palette though.

The OST is the standout for me! The eerie instrumentals genuinely gave me chills, and the romantic theme for the couples was beautiful. I rewatched some scenes just for the background score. However, the music looped too often, and the sound mixing was off in parts. Still, I've added a few tracks to my playlist.

I appreciate that the series shows LGBTQ+ characters in a supernatural setting, but I have concerns about the lack of trigger warnings for suicide. The horror elements also rely on traumatic deaths which could be upsetting. On the positive side, the characters' self-discovery arcs were handled with some sensitivity. A mixed bag.
