Gen Y Season 2 picks up right where the emotional turmoil of Season 1 left off, diving headfirst into the tangled hearts of Wayu, Thanu, and the memory of Pha. After Pha's sudden and unexplained departure, Wayu tentatively begins a relationship with the steadfast Thanu, but the shadow of his first love looms large. As Pha's terminal illness is revealed, the fragile new romance is tested by guilt, duty, and unresolved grief. Meanwhile, Kit and Mark navigate their own self-imposed separation experiment, Pok and Tong's toxic push-pull reaches a boiling point, and the meddlesome Sandee orchestrates chaos from the sidelines. This season is a slow-burn melodrama about letting go, holding on, and the messy ways love survives even the most heartbreaking circumstances. With multiple couples grappling with fate, illness, and their own stubborn hearts, it's a series that demands patience but rewards with genuine emotional beats and a few surprising moments of tenderness.

I know everyone hates on this season, but I actually loved every second of Mark and Kit. Yes, their 'practice being apart' plot was ridiculous, but Copter and Kimmon have such undeniable sweetness together. I fast-forwarded through all the Wayu-Thanu scenes because they're so boring, but for my OTP I'd watch 12 more episodes.

This is genuinely one of the worst-written BLs I've ever seen. Nothing happens for the first eight episodes except characters staring into space and having conversations that go in circles. The 'conflict' is entirely self-inflicted and resolved by characters suddenly deciding to communicate off-screen. I was bored to tears.

I only watched this for Jack and Koh—their bickering, the denial, the barely-contained sexual tension. They got maybe five minutes of screen time across the whole season, and they still stole every scene. Pok and Tong also had some genuinely compelling toxic energy even if the resolution was rushed. The main couples? Zzzzz.

I was uncomfortable with how the show romanticizes toxic relationship patterns—especially Tong and Pok's dynamic where physical aggression is conflated with passion. Also, Wayu has zero agency; he's just passed from Pha to Thanu like a suitcase. For a show that could have explored grief and consent, it's a missed opportunity that just reinforces harmful stereotypes.

I read the original novels and this adaptation is a travesty. They completely changed Wayu's personality from someone with backbone to a weeping mess, and the whole 'fate vs. choice' theme from the books is reduced to a pointless subplot with Phai. Mark and Kit's storyline was butchered to create artificial drama. Hard pass for novel fans.
