Gay Out Soon 3: Some is a South Korean omnibus film that weaves together six poignant short stories exploring love, longing, and self-discovery within the LGBTQ+ community. From the fleeting chemistry of a chance encounter in 'Some' (10 min) to the dreamy pastoral romance of 'Turquoise Sky' (15 min), each vignette captures a unique emotional landscape. 'Green Light' (8 min) offers a tender moment of connection under city lights, while 'One Summer Night' (10 min) evokes nostalgia and bittersweet goodbye. 'The Name Game' (7 min) plays with identity and attraction, and 'Adonis Fortuneteller' brings a touch of magical realism to love. Despite their brief runtimes, these shorts pack heartfelt performances and intimate direction, making this collection a gem for fans of queer cinema looking for slice-of-life romance with a Korean sensibility.

I absolutely adored 'One Summer Night' – such a beautiful, quiet story about two young men who meet during a summer festival and share a moment that feels both fleeting and eternal. The whole collection has this dreamy, melancholic vibe that really resonated with me. Not much plot, but the feelings are so real.

I appreciate the effort to show queer love in 2014 Korea, but most of these shorts feel more like scenes than complete stories. 'Turquoise Sky' had nice cinematography but the ending was abrupt. It's a decent watch if you have 40 minutes to kill, but don't expect deep character arcs.

The color grading in 'Green Light' is gorgeous – that neon green glow against the dark street creates such an intimate atmosphere. Every shot in 'The Name Game' feels carefully composed like a photograph. This is what indie filmmaking should be: raw, human, and visually poetic.

The soundtrack is minimal but effective – a few piano notes here, a soft guitar strum there. It perfectly matches the understated tone. My only wish is that the shorts were longer so the music could breathe more. Still, 'Adonis Fortuneteller' had a lovely little score that made me smile.

For 2014, this is remarkably progressive – no tragic endings, no punishment for being gay, just ordinary romantic encounters. That said, I wish the film had engaged more with queer identity beyond the surface. It's sweet but slightly avoids the real social context. Still, a nice comfort watch.
