When bright transfer student Andy moves from the quiet provinces to the bustling city of Manila, he expects nothing more than a fresh academic start. But when he's partnered with Renzo, the charismatic and dedicated student council president, for the National Science Competition, his world tilts on its axis. As they spend long afternoons in the lab and late nights cramming, Andy finds himself falling for Renzo's quiet confidence and hidden warmth. Yet his feelings remain a secret crush, tangled in the anxiety of first love and the fear of rejection. Set against a backdrop of university hallways and flashbacks to simpler times, 'Ganahan Ko Nimo' is a tender, short-form romance that captures the bittersweet thrill of discovering your heart in the most unexpected partnership. With a smart male lead navigating both academic pressure and emotional awakening, this Filipino BL delicately explores the courage it takes to admit what your heart already knows.

I'm such a sucker for shy transfer students falling for the campus heartthrob! Andy and Renzo had me smiling like an idiot the whole time. The way Renzo softens for Andy? Ugh, my heart. It's short but so sweet – I've already watched it three times.

It's fine for what it is – a short student film. But the pacing feels rushed and the 'science competition' backdrop is barely used. The romance develops too quickly without much buildup. Still, the leads have decent chemistry and it's harmless fluff.

Considering the low budget, the cinematography surprised me. Soft lighting in the library scenes and those dreamy flashbacks with a warm filter gave the film a nostalgic feel. It's rough around the edges but the visual mood really sells the romance.

I appreciate seeing a gay male lead who is smart and not stereotyped, and the film handles Andy's secret crush without any toxic drama. However, there's zero conversation about sexuality or identity – it's just assumed. For a short film it's okay, but I wish there was a bit more depth around the coming-out aspect.
