In a world where social media demands relentless positivity, a struggling app called Zendaya gets an unexpected boost when Thailand's most notorious villain-turned-actor, Fueangnakorn, posts a simple message: 'Let’s pass on positive energy.' This single act catapults the app to national fame—and brings Fueang face-to-face with Krommatha, the kind-hearted developer behind the app. When a chance airport encounter reveals they're neighbors, Krom reluctantly steps in as Fueang's temporary manager. What begins as a practical arrangement blossoms into a tender romance, but their happiness is tested by the ruthless glare of fame, obsessive fans, and the pressures of public scrutiny. *City of Stars* is a refreshingly mature take on celebrity love, celebrating honest communication, mutual respect, and the courage to live authentically. With a diverse cast that includes an authentic transgender character and a second couple finding their own happy ending, this series balances sweetness with social commentary—a gentle reminder that even under the spotlight, love can be a safe harbor.

I am absolutely obsessed with Fueang and Krom! They are the greenest flags I've ever seen in a BL—they actually talk about their feelings and never play stupid games. The way Fueang looks at Krom makes my heart melt every time. Plus, all those kisses? Chef's kiss! If you want a drama that makes you smile from ear to ear, this is it.

The leads are charming, but the pacing is a real problem. The first five episodes drag with endless filler (do we really need ten minutes of supermarket scenes?), and every conflict gets resolved too easily—the disapproving mother, the money-hungry ex, the fan backlash. There's no tension, so the emotional payoff falls flat. A tighter edit would have made this genuinely good.

I appreciate how this drama handles the darker side of celebrity fandom and the pressure to stay closeted. The trans character Namsom is portrayed with real dignity—no cringe, no punchlines—just a woman navigating life and love. That said, the app Zendaya is woefully underused as a plot device. Still, for its messaging alone, this deserves a watch.

I came for the main couple but stayed for Kor and Namsom. Their storyline is so beautiful and fragile—Kor learning to love a trans woman with such tenderness? I cried. But honestly, they needed more screen time. The show teased them but never fully committed. The second half picked up, but overall it's just okay.

Having read the novels first, I'm really disappointed. The books explore far deeper themes—homophobia in the industry, Krom's potential pansexuality, the real cost of fame. The series sanded off all the edges, made everything too soft, and added those awful comedic sound effects. The actors do their best, but the direction and writing let them down. Stick to the source material.
