From Here to There is a poignant Hong Kong short film that captures the bittersweet ache of first love and the weight of time. College classmates Jae and Him were inseparable—sharing late-night study sessions, secret glances, and an unspoken bond that blurred the line between friendship and something deeper. Yet after graduation, the intensity of their connection drove them apart, each walking away without a word. A decade later, fate brings them together at a mutual friend's wedding banquet, where they find themselves seated next to each other. As the celebration unfolds around them, old memories resurface, and awkward small talk gives way to silent questions: Did we lose something irreplaceable? Can a decade of distance be bridged in one night? With a warm, understated tone and a clever, heart-tugging twist, this film explores the courage it takes to revisit the past—and the quiet hope that some connections never truly fade.

At first it looks like yet another 'meeting after years' story, but the funny conclusion really elevates it. The film doesn't fully address the unspoken homosexuality, but I had a pleasant feeling overall—definitely worth half an hour.

I loved the quiet tension between Jae and Him—the way they avoided each other's eyes at the wedding felt so real. The ending gave me a lump in my throat. Wish it were longer!

Decent short with solid acting, but the pacing felt rushed and the script could have used more development. The twist was cute but not groundbreaking. Good for a quick emotional fix.

This is exactly what I needed! Two college boys who were clearly in love but didn't say it—then meeting again ten years later? My heart couldn't take it. The ending made me smile for hours.

I appreciate the attempt at a subtle queer story, but the film's reluctance to label the relationship or confront societal homophobia felt like a missed opportunity. Still, the acting was charming.
