In the sun-drenched coastal town of Kamakura, freelance photographer Takumi is hired by a prestigious agency to shoot a campaign for a luxury resort. The client insists on using a specific male model, the enigmatic and ethereal Ryo. From the moment they meet, Takumi is captivated not just by Ryo's photogenic beauty, but by the quiet vulnerability lurking beneath his polished exterior. As they spend long days at golden beaches and hidden temples, the line between professional collaboration and personal intimacy begins to blur. Director Yuji Tajiri crafts a tender, slow-burn romance that feels like a hazy summer afternoon—gentle, fleeting, yet deeply resonant. With minimal dialogue and evocative imagery, 'Forever Summer' captures the ache of a love that may have no tomorrow, yet burns brightly in the moment. It's a meditative, visually lush journey about finding connection when you least expect it, and the courage to hold onto a feeling even when everything else fades.

I absolutely melted watching Takumi and Ryo. Their chemistry is so natural and tender—every glance, every silence felt so real. The ending made me cry, but in a beautiful way. This is exactly the kind of gentle, heartfelt BL I crave.

The cinematography alone is worth the watch. Golden hour shots, reflections in water, soft focus on faces—it's like a moving art gallery. The story is secondary to the visual poetry, but that's exactly why I love it.

I appreciate the aesthetic, but the plot is paper-thin. The modeling subplot feels underused, and the conflict resolves too neatly. It's pleasant but lacks substance. A good watch if you want something low-stakes, but don't expect complexity.

The film handles the power dynamic between photographer and model with surprising care. Consent is clear, and their interactions never feel exploitative. It's refreshing to see a BL romance that prioritizes mutual respect over dramatic tension.

The piano score perfectly captures the bittersweet mood. I still hum the main theme weeks later. Music and visuals fuse together to create an emotional atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll. A must-listen for OST enthusiasts.
