From the universe of 'Hit Bite Love' comes a refreshingly focused retelling of Burger and King's story, now told entirely through Burger's eyes. When transfer student Burger joins Rose Garden College, his quiet life is upended by the school's popular drama club president, King. A simple misunderstanding over a shared textbook leads King to believe Burger has a crush on him, setting off a hilarious and heartfelt pursuit. While King becomes increasingly convinced of their destined romance, Burger—who dreams of becoming an actor—frantically tries to dodge the advances without hurting King's feelings. As they navigate teenage awkwardness, a meddling drama club, and a series of unexpected survey questions, the line between friendship and something more begins to blur. This 80-minute film strips away the series' darker subplots to deliver a pure, comedic, and tender exploration of first love, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to say 'I like you' first.

I loved how this re-edit fixed many of the problems I had with Hit Bite Love. Focusing on Burger's perspective makes the story feel fresh, and the comedic timing is spot-on. My only complaint is the stereotypical trans character and a few flashback edits that felt clunky.

This is the fluffiest, most adorable BL I've seen in ages! King's clueless persistence and Burger's exasperation had me laughing out loud. The chemistry between Newyear and Jur is off the charts, and the soundtrack is such a bonus. Perfect weekend watch.

While the comedic tone is a welcome change, the film still suffers from pacing issues—the ending feels rushed and I needed one more scene to feel closure. The reliance on a misunderstanding trope is cute but overdone. Still, it's a decent time-passer.

Visually, the film is bright and pleasing, with nice color grading that captures the high school vibe. The editing could have been tighter—those random flashbacks to unseen scenes were jarring. But the lead performances are charismatic enough to carry the weaker technical bits.

I appreciate the attempt to make a lighter version, but I can't overlook the problematic portrayal of the trans woman character—loud, yelling, and used as comic relief. Also, King's 'aggressive' pursuit is played for laughs when it's actually coercive. Not recommended for viewers sensitive to consent issues.
