I absolutely adored this drama! Yes, it has its flaws, but the core romance between Yeon Seok and Ha Yeon had me swooning. The way Yeon Seok slowly accepts that his soulmate is now a man, and grows to love Ha Yeon for who he is right now – it's just so beautiful. I cried happy tears at the end.

The concept is fantastic – a man chasing his reincarnated lover through lifetimes – but the execution is sloppy. The romance feels rushed, the love triangle is pointless, and the final conflict resolves with a single conversation that should have been 20 minutes earlier. I wanted to love it, but it needed more episodes and better writing.

Visually, this series is a treat. The cinematography uses warm tones and clever lighting to separate past and present, and the wardrobe is stunning – Yeon Seok's suits are perfection. The Gumiho creature's design is wonderfully practical. It's clear a lot of thought went into the look, even if the script couldn't keep up.

The OST is actually one of my favorite parts of *First Love Again*. The main theme captures that longing feeling perfectly, and the upbeat track during their early dates makes me smile every time. A few more musical moments could have elevated the emotional payoff, but what's here is genuinely lovely.

I appreciate that this series tackles the complexity of a soulmate changing gender, but Yeon Seok's initial hostility toward Ha Yeon is hard to watch. There's also a questionable kiss scene that lacks clear consent. On the plus side, I'm thrilled they included an asexual/non-binary side character – Mikael is iconic. More representation like that, please.
