In the sweltering heat of a Thai high school, two athletes collide—not just on the field, but in a love that defies expectations. Chai, a brooding beach volleyball player running from a troubled past, moves into a cramped dorm room with Aek, a charismatic soccer star. Their initial friction soon gives way to an unspoken bond, captured in quiet moments—sharing noodles at a roadside stall, competing for glory, and stealing glances. But as their relationship deepens, external threats and internal doubts loom. When Chai faces a brutal attack, the stakes rise, forcing both to confront their feelings and the harsh realities of a world not ready for them. This Thai film eschews typical BL tropes, offering a raw, melancholic portrait of first love, ambition, and the inevitable pain of growing apart. With minimal dialogue and a focus on atmospheric storytelling, *Feel Good To Say Goodbye* is a hauntingly beautiful meditation on what it means to love and let go.

Despite its rough edges, this film captured the aching sweetness of first love. The silent scenes of them just being together—sharing a meal, walking home—felt so real and tender. I cried at the ending because it's not a fairy tale, but that's what made it so poignant. The chemistry between the leads is raw and believable.

I appreciate the attempt at realism, but the pacing is glacial and the plot jumps around without clear transitions. Some scenes feel like filler—long shots of them showering or staring into space. The ending left me frustrated because there's no closure. The acting is amateurish, and the subtitles were terrible. Not my cup of tea.

This film has a unique visual language. The use of natural lighting and lingering close-ups creates an intimate, almost documentary-like feel. The water park scene and the final beach sequence are beautifully shot, conveying emotion without words. However, the editing is choppy, and some shots feel unnecessary. Still, for the cinematography alone, it's worth a watch.

Finally, a BL that doesn't shy away from showing a gay character who is out and proud—or at least not in denial. Chai's internal struggle and his attraction are portrayed with honesty. That said, the film's treatment of the attack and the lack of consent discussion in the later reunion bother me. The power dynamics are messy, but it's a step forward in representation for its time. Worth watching for the discourse it sparks.

The soundtrack is sparse but effective when used. There's a particular piano piece that repeats during key emotional moments, which became haunting. However, many scenes are dead silent, which at times works for realism but also makes the film feel unfinished. I wish they had invested in a better score to elevate the emotions. Still, the music that's there is poignant.
