What if Chen Zi Hao and Yang Yu Hang's love story had taken a different path? This two-episode special answers that question by reimagining the bittersweet conclusion of the original series. Instead of the expected happy ending, viewers are offered two alternate timelines—one where the boys pursue higher education in different cities, and another where fate gives them a second chance. Through poignant phone calls, aching silences, and the quiet intensity of unspoken longing, the special explores the emotional weight of choice and circumstance. It’s a beautifully melancholic what-if scenario that deepens the connection between these two student lovers, capturing the fragility and resilience of first love. Perfect for fans who crave emotional depth over conventional happy endings, this miniseries proves that sometimes the most heart-wrenching paths are the most memorable.

I was sobbing by the second episode. The alternate ending where they don't end up together felt so real—it hurt but also made me appreciate the original ending more. The way Chen Zi Hao's voice cracks during the phone call is everything.

The instrumental score in the final scene of each alternate ending is hauntingly beautiful. It carries the entire emotional weight of the dialogue. I wish the soundtrack was released separately because I’d listen on repeat.

I appreciate the ‘what if’ concept, but the pacing felt rushed. Two episodes isn't enough to fully explore two different endings—some emotional beats were skipped. Still, the acting saved it from being a mess.

The lighting in the dormitory scenes is gorgeous—soft, warm, and golden. Every frame feels like a Polaroid of memory. Cinematography did more heavy lifting than the script in establishing mood.

I liked that the special focuses on communication and mutual care rather than possessive tropes. The long-distance ending especially shows emotional maturity—both boys respect each other’s dreams even when it hurts.
