Get ready for a quick, sweet shot of coffee-infused romance! *Evening Café* is a 4-episode Thai miniseries that serves up a classic workplace crush with a cozy café setting. Tham, a handsome but somewhat reserved barista at Kanya Cafe, finds his routine shaken up by the arrival of Sky, a new fellow barista. Despite an instant and inexplicable spark between them, their relationship starts off on the wrong foot—Sky's seemingly arrogant attitude clashes with Tham's quiet demeanor. But beneath the surface, both are nursing hidden feelings, and as they spend late shifts together in the warm glow of the café, the tension slowly melts into something tender. With a focus on fast-paced emotional development and a soundtrack that perfectly underscores every glance, this series captures the fluttering excitement of a new crush, though its brevity means some story threads feel abbreviated. Perfect for when you want a low-commitment, feel-good watch that doesn't overstay its welcome.

I watched this for the cute barista boys and honestly, they delivered! Aoom and Phupha have such natural, sweet chemistry—I could watch them bicker and then soften up all day. Yes, the plot is super basic and rushed, but the bike scene made me smile. I just wish we'd gotten a kiss at the end! Still, for a 45-minute fluff break, this hit the spot.

A mess of tropes crammed into four short episodes with zero logical character development. The main couple goes from hating each other to falling in love in about two minutes, and that 'twist' ending makes no sense given what came before. The dialogue is wooden and the acting is mostly stiff. Only the female side character felt real—shows how low the bar is.

I wanted to like this more because the café setting has such potential for warm, inviting visuals. Unfortunately, the lighting is harsh and inconsistent—especially the beach scene at night which looks oddly lit. The camera work is basic, with little thought to composition. That said, I appreciated the lack of terrible hair helmets on the actors, and a couple of framing choices during their bike ride were decent.

I have to give credit where it's due: the background score is genuinely nice. It evokes a soft, romantic indie vibe that helped carry the emotional beats when the script failed. The main theme song is also pretty catchy. Unfortunately, the sound mixing is a bit rough—some scenes have awkward cuts in the music. But for a low-budget series, the music team did their homework.

This series would have been tolerable if not for the way it romanticizes workplace harassment. Sky's constant teasing and invasive comments about Tham's looks are played for laughs, but in reality that's unacceptable behavior between colleagues. The fact that Tham is supposed to be the one in the wrong for not appreciating it is troubling. We need to stop normalizing this as 'cute.'
