Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 lockdown, *Even After* follows Zag, a lonely and openly effeminate gay vlogger, as he embarks on a digital quest for love. Connecting through social media, he stumbles upon Zig, a seemingly grumpy but emotionally guarded young man. As they navigate the isolation of quarantine through video calls and texts, their online banter slowly blossoms into something deeper. But real connection means facing Zig's unresolved 'mommy issues' and the painful walls he has built. More than just a pandemic romance, this series celebrates the courage to be your true self, proves that love isn't bound by gender, and shows that even in the most confined spaces, the heart can find its way home. It’s a raw, unfiltered look at modern love, shot DIY-style, that captures the anxiety, hope, and vulnerability of a generation searching for intimacy through screens.

I absolutely adored the earnestness of this show! Zag and Zig's awkward video calls felt so real and made me smile every time. Yes, the production is rough, but the heart is there. Kelly Fontanilla shines as a gay boy who isn't a joke—that representation alone is worth the watch. A sweet, fluffy quarantine escape.

I wanted to like this more, but the execution is just too amateurish. The acting is stilted, the editing has glaring jump cuts, and the plot resolves far too quickly. Zig's conflict with his mother is rushed and unconvincing. Compared to 'Hello, Stranger' or 'Gameboys', this one falls flat. Only for the most forgiving of BL fans.

What this series lacks in polish, it makes up for in meaningful representation. Zag is an empowered, effeminate gay lead who isn't a punchline—that's rare and valuable. The storyline also handles consent and boundaries in relationships maturely. However, the wooden delivery of supporting actors and cheesy lines undermine the message. Worth watching for the cultural significance, not the craft.

Honestly, the production quality is painful. The split-screen calls constantly have the mute button visible, the lighting is harsh, and the sound is inconsistent. There's no visual storytelling—just people talking to webcams. I appreciate the effort made during a tough time, but as a piece of media, it doesn't hold up. The soundtrack (Dalawang Mundo) is lovely, but that's it.
