After spending seven years in France, Theo returns to Thailand to study at his father's university, carrying the weight of his grandmother's recent death. Struggling to adjust, he stumbles upon an old French book in the library and scribbles a bored message inside—only to find a mysterious reply signed 'Enchanté.' Intrigued and desperate for connection, Theo becomes obsessed with uncovering the identity of his secret pen pal. His childhood best friend and neighbor, the sweetly devoted Akk, agrees to help him investigate. But the search takes an unexpected turn when four different campus heartthrobs each claim to be Enchanté, each with their own shady motives. As Theo and Akk grow closer while unraveling the lies, their long-buried childhood bond blossoms into something deeper. What begins as a lighthearted mystery quickly becomes a test of trust, honesty, and the true meaning of love. Enchanté is a visually dreamy, slow-burn romance that explores the messy beauty of reconnection, self-discovery, and the courage to be vulnerable.

I absolutely adored Enchanté! Yes, Theo makes some dumb choices, but that's what makes him human. The chemistry between ForceBook is off the charts—every soft look, every accidental touch, it all felt so real. I was giggling and kicking my feet through most episodes. The baby proposal at the fake Eiffel Tower? Chef's kiss. If you're a sap like me, you'll love this.

I wanted to like this, but the writing is just so sloppy. Theo's entire motivation for faking the Enchanté identity is flimsy at best, and the way he treats Akk afterward made me actively root against him. The plot drags in the middle and then rushes a resolution that feels unearned. The side characters are cardboard cutouts. The only reason it's not a 2 is because Force's puppy-dog eyes almost saved it.

Visually this drama is a feast. The color grading gives everything a dreamy, nostalgic haze—especially the night scenes with candles and fairy lights. The soft lens filter might bother some, but I thought it perfectly matched the fairytale tone. Every frame is a painting. The fake Paris background in the finale is a bit jarring, but overall the cinematography alone makes this worth a watch for visual lovers.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I appreciate that the kiss in episode 8 has clear verbal consent. On the other hand, Theo's manipulation of Akk through the Enchanté lie is deeply troubling—he's essentially gaslighting his best friend for his own emotional gain. The power dynamics are off, and the show doesn't seem to fully reckon with that. Akk's quick forgiveness feels like a dodged moral bullet. Not unwatchable, but problematic.

Honestly, I was more invested in Saifa and the other side characters than the main couple. The mystery around the four Enchanté pretenders was actually the most compelling part—each had their own reasons and backstories that felt more layered than Theo's drama. I wish they'd gotten more screen time and a proper conclusion. Still, it's a decent watch for the side dynamics alone.

The music is subtle but effective. The main theme 'Enchanté' by Gawin Caskey fits the wistful, romantic mood perfectly—it's the kind of song you want to play on loop. The background score uses soft piano and strings that never overpower the scene. Not the most memorable OST in GMMTV history, but it works beautifully with the fairytale vibe.

I haven't read the novel but I've heard from fans that the drama changed quite a few character motivations and removed some of the darker nuance. What we got on screen feels sanitized and less coherent. Theo's behavior in the original apparently had more justification, but here he just comes off as a brat. The adaptation lost the edge that made the story interesting.

I know this series gets a lot of hate, but I honestly think it's underrated. Theo isn't perfect, but that's exactly why I felt for him—he's messy and scared, just like real people. And Akk? My heart. The way he loves Theo unconditionally, even when he's being a jerk, is heartbreaking and beautiful. Their reunion in France made me sob ugly tears. Don't listen to the haters; give it a chance.
