Mitsuru, an energetic high schooler, falls deeply in love with his cheerful classmate Koichi. Their romance blossoms with sweet, everyday moments—until a tragic car accident shatters their world. But Koichi returns, not as a ghost, but as a living corpse, visible only to those who hold his memory close. As Mitsuru clings to their love, Koichi begins to fade from the world, growing increasingly transparent with each passing day. This Complete Edition of *Eien No Kinou* refines the original series with perfect pacing and additional scenes, turning a heartbreaking story into an unforgettable meditation on love, loss, and the enduring power of memory. The use of inner monologue and poignant flashbacks pulls viewers into Mitsuru’s emotional journey, making every moment—joyful or tearful—feel achingly real. It’s a bittersweet, beautifully crafted JBL that proves even the saddest endings can leave you feeling whole.

I cried like a baby but I don't regret a single tear. This show is just so beautiful—the way Mitsuru and Koichi hold onto each other is pure magic. The inner monologues made my heart ache in the best way. If you want a love story that stays with you forever, watch this.

I appreciate the emotional weight, but the pacing felt uneven at times—especially in the middle episodes. Some flashbacks could have been trimmed. Still, the performances are strong and the final scene is remarkably well executed. A solid, if slightly overlong, tearjerker.

The cinematography is stunning. Every shot of Koichi fading is framed with such delicate symbolism—the use of light, shadows, and reflections is masterful. The color palette shifts subtly as the story progresses, mirroring Mitsuru's grief. This is a visual poem.

The OST is absolutely devastating. That opening theme starts playing and I already feel the tears coming. The piano motif that returns during the climax is pure genius. Music and story blend perfectly here—I’ve had the songs on repeat for weeks.

I appreciate the sincere portrayal of grief, but I found the 'living corpse' premise a bit odd from a consent perspective—Koichi is essentially trapped by Mitsuru's love. The show doesn't explore that ethical angle, which felt like a missed opportunity. Still, the acting is heartfelt.
