In the cutthroat world of Taiwanese entertainment, two stars from opposite orbits are forced into a collision course. Jiang Mo, a once-acclaimed actor whose career was derailed by a scandal, is barely scraping by. On the other side of the spotlight is Xu Xinlang, a volatile top idol whose pristine image hides a rebellious streak. When they are cast as the leads in a controversial BL film, the set becomes a battlefield of egos, buried resentments, and searing tension. But as they navigate grueling rehearsals, invasive online scrutiny, and relentless industry pressure, their scripted hostility begins to crack, revealing a raw, unexpected chemistry. With each stolen glance and unguarded moment, the line between acting and reality blurs. 'Dual Stars' is a deft, emotionally charged miniseries that explores identity, courage, and the fragile art of letting someone see who you really are—behind the fame, the fear, and the lenses of a million cameras.

I absolutely devoured this! The enemies-to-lovers trope is my kryptonite, and Jiang Mo and Xu Xinlang delivered such believable tension. I loved that they both openly admitted they liked men—none of that wishy-washy 'only for you' nonsense. The kisses during the film shoot were real and gorgeous, even if the personal ones were a bit angled. A fun, sweet time-killer that I'll definitely rewatch.

I wanted to like this more, but the rushed storytelling really hurt it. The first four episodes were decent, then the false-accusation plot came out of nowhere and the relationship development felt forced. Also, the dubbing was distracting—why do a Taiwanese drama need lip-syncing? It pulled me out of every emotional scene. A so-so watch at best.

For a low-budget miniseries, the cinematography and locations were surprisingly beautiful. Loved the warm color grading in the romantic scenes and the gritty feel of the entertainment industry backdrops. But the voiceover dubbing was a real letdown—it clashed with the visual quality. And those blocked kiss shots… such a shame, because the framing was otherwise lovely.

I appreciate that the show tried to address serious issues like past homophobia and online harassment, but the execution felt hollow. The leads' 'straightness' was painfully obvious; they never convinced me they were actually attracted to each other. I wish BL productions would cast queer actors or at least invest in proper intimacy direction. The social commentary was good on paper, but the performances didn't back it up.

The OST really elevated this series for me. The main theme is catchy and perfectly captures the bittersweet tension of a reel-to-real romance. The background score during their confession scene gave me chills. If you're a music person like me, this drama's soundscape is a treat—even if the plot has some wobbles. I've already added a few tracks to my playlist.
