After five long years, university student In Ho returns to his grandmother's abandoned countryside home, expecting nothing more than a quiet vacation. But the house holds a secret—a playful, ancient dokkaebi (goblin) who has been bound to the property, waiting for someone worthy of its magic. As In Ho clears away dust and memories, he accidentally awakens the supernatural being, sparking an unlikely bond that blurs the line between folklore and romance. The dokkaebi, curious about the modern world and drawn to In Ho's gentle soul, begins to reveal glimpses of a forgotten past—and a mysterious curse that threatens to separate them. Part whimsical fantasy, part tender love story, 'Dokkaebi Captivation' weaves Korean mythology with a slow-burn queer romance, exploring themes of loneliness, belonging, and the courage to love beyond the ordinary. With breathtaking rural scenery and a heartwarming dynamic between a cautious human and an otherworldly spirit, this series promises a fresh, emotionally resonant take on the supernatural BL genre.

I'm a total sucker for magical romances, and this one delivered all the feels! In Ho and the dokkaebi have this adorable, shy chemistry that melts my heart. The way he leaves little offerings for the spirit—so precious! If you love slow-burns with a touch of fantasy, don't miss this.

The premise is charming, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes. The dokkaebi's backstory is hinted at but never fully explored, which left me with questions. Also, the resolution of the curse felt a bit rushed. Still, it's a pleasant watch if you lower expectations.

Visually stunning! The golden-hour shots of the countryside, the soft blue glow of the dokkaebi's magic—absolute eye candy. The director clearly has a background in art film. Every scene is framed like a painting. I'd watch it just for the cinematography alone.

The soundtrack is underrated! That indie folk ballad that plays during the first night scene where they share rice cakes? I've had it on repeat. The music really amplifies the wistful, dreamy mood of the show. Wish they'd release a full OST album.

I appreciate that this drama handles the power imbalance between human and supernatural being with care. The dokkaebi never pressures In Ho, and their emotional intimacy grows through mutual respect and choice. It's a refreshingly healthy queer fantasy romance—no coercion, just gentle consent.
