In this emotionally charged Taiwanese short film, Leo finds himself caught between the present and a past he thought he had buried. When his ex-boyfriend unexpectedly returns, old wounds are reopened, forcing Leo to confront unresolved feelings and the painful circumstances of their breakup. As memories flash back to happier times, Leo must decide whether to give in to the allure of a second chance or protect the fragile stability he has built. With its intimate storytelling and raw performances by actors Akai and Leo Kai, this short drama explores the complexities of love, self-worth, and the courage it takes to choose oneself. A poignant, beautifully shot 30-minute journey that packs an emotional punch far beyond its runtime.

I am an absolute sucker for second-chance romance, and this short film delivered all the angst and longing I could want. Akai and Leo Kai had such palpable chemistry—every time they were on screen together, I held my breath. The flashback scenes were heartbreakingly sweet. Definitely a hidden gem for anyone who loves emotional BL.

I wanted to like this more, but the short runtime really hurt the storytelling. The conflict felt forced because we never truly understand why the ex left in the first place. The ending also felt rushed and a bit too neat. The acting was decent, but the script needed another pass to flesh out the characters.

Visually, this short film is a treat. The warm, desaturated color palette in the present versus the brighter golden tones in the flashbacks really underscored the emotional contrast. The intimate close-ups during the confrontations captured every micro-expression beautifully. I just wish the director had experimented a bit more with the blocking.

I appreciate that the film tries to tackle the messy reality of wanting someone who hurt you, but I felt it gave a bit too much leeway to the ex's manipulative behavior without clear accountability. The central question 'Do you love yourself or me?' is powerful, yet the resolution didn't fully earn the self-love arc. Still, it sparked good discussion.

The piano-driven score really elevated the aching, melancholic vibe of this short film. The main theme, which plays during the key flashback, is simple but haunting—I actually looked it up after watching. The sound design was subtle but effective, with ambient sounds that made the silences feel heavy. More BL shorts should invest in music this thoughtfully.
