While physical distance is an obvious issue, sexual distance is an even more complicated issue in relationships... Or is it?

Distansya is a refreshingly candid Filipino short film that explores the nuances of intimacy beyond mere physical proximity. When two college students find themselves navigating a long-distance setup, they quickly discover that closing the miles between them is only half the battle. The real challenge lies in bridging the 'sexual distance'—the unspoken gap in desire, comfort, and vulnerability that can exist even when bodies are close. Through witty dialogue and tender, awkward moments, the film asks whether physical closeness automatically guarantees emotional and sexual connection. A blend of comedy and romance, Distansya offers a lighthearted yet thought-provoking take on modern queer relationships, proving that distance isn't always measured in kilometers.

I appreciate the attempt to tackle a unique theme like sexual distance, but the film felt too short to fully develop its ideas. The dialogue was cute but the pacing was off, and the resolution came too easily. It's a decent snack, but I wanted a full meal.

This little short film stole my heart! The chemistry between the leads is so natural and sweet, and I loved how they laughed through their awkward moments. It's a perfect slice-of-life BL that reminds you love isn't just about being together physically.

I liked that the film opened a conversation about how distance can affect desire and communication, but it only skimmed the surface. The characters are likable, yet the script missed a chance to really unpack consent and comfort levels. A good start, but not deep enough.

For a low-budget short film, the framing and use of natural lighting are surprisingly charming. The film captures the quiet, mundane beauty of Filipino streets and homes. It won't win awards, but it's visually cozy and perfectly suits the indie vibe.

I found the whole thing too simplistic. The 'sexual distance' concept felt more like a gimmick than a genuine exploration, and the humor didn't land for me. It's barely 20 minutes but still felt padded. Only worth it if you're a completionist for Filipino BL.
