Join everyone's favorite quirky couple, Dino and his boyfriend, on a whirlwind 36-minute vacation in this standalone special episode of 'Dinosaur Love'. After the events of the main series, the pair escape to Vietnam for a much-needed getaway, trading university classrooms for bustling markets and scenic landscapes. Packed with playful shopping trips, sweet bickering, and a noticeable absence of the red-flag behavior that plagued the original, this miniseries offers a refreshing, low-stakes slice of domestic bliss. While the comedy sound effects may divide opinion, the genuine warmth between the leads shines through as they navigate cultural differences and reaffirm their commitment. Adapted from the novel by Scriper, 'Go to Vietnam' is a palate-cleansing detour that proves sometimes less is more—especially when it means more time with characters you've come to love.

I finally got the Dino we deserved! Seeing him actually treat his boyfriend sweetly on this Vietnam trip made my heart so warm. The shopping scene where he tries on that silly hat? Pure gold. Short, sweet, and perfectly fluffy—I just wish it was longer!

Look, it's an improvement over the main series because Dino isn't a walking red flag, but almost nothing happens. They literally repeat the same conversation three times—'I'm hungry,' 'Let's eat,' 'Where should we go?'—at 3x speed, I still felt bored. The comedy sound effects were cringey, not funny.

As someone who read the novel, this special captures the lighthearted travel vibe of one of the side chapters, but the pacing is off. They cut out all the deeper emotional beats and just left the fluff. It's cute for existing fans, but book readers will miss the character development that made the story special.

I appreciate that this special actively works to rehabilitate Dino's character from the problematic dynamics of the main series. His behavior here is respectful—he asks for consent before initiating physical contact and actually listens to his partner. A small step, but an important one for queer representation that models healthy relationships.
