Hill was the kind of kid everyone overlooked—an awkward, bullied geek who found refuge in a dating sim called *Yuka! Love Me Please*. Through the game's gentle avatar, he rebuilt his shattered confidence, transformed his appearance, and eventually became a talented programmer. When he lands his dream job at the very company that created Yuka, he expects to meet his virtual muse face-to-face—instead, he meets Junji, the stoic Japanese CEO who delivers the shocking news: Yuka is being retired. Tasked with developing a new game inspired by his enigmatic boss, Hill discovers that his most profound connection isn't with a digital character, but with the man who quietly understands his pain. This Thai-Japanese co-production blends workplace comedy, slow-burn romance, and a thoughtful exploration of identity and healing. With two couples navigating love across cultural and personal boundaries, *Dating Game* serves up heartwarming moments, gentle laughs, and a surprisingly tender message about finding real love in an increasingly virtual world.

I was completely charmed by this series! Hill and Junji's slow-burn romance felt so earned, and I loved how the show balanced cringey comedy with genuinely touching moments. March and Mukai may be new to BL, but their chemistry made me giggle and swoon. The only reason I'm not giving a 10 is that the side couple's family drama felt messy, but the main story is absolutely worth it.

This isn't just a fluffy rom-com—it's a quiet meditation on identity, parasocial relationships, and what it means to love a real person versus a fantasy. The show cleverly hides its depth under layers of workplace comedy and dating sim tropes. I especially appreciated how Junji's character subverts the typical 'tsundere' label. A must-watch for those who want their romance with a side of social commentary.

The concept is solid—a nerd who falls for a game avatar then meets the real inspiration? Great. But for me, the execution lacked heart. The main couple's development felt too formulaic, and the side couple was given all the dramatic beats while the leads got stuck with repetitive 'mission' scenes. March's performance is excellent, but the script needed more oomph. Still, it's a perfectly fine weekend binge.

The production design is surprisingly thoughtful—the use of Yuka's pinkish game aesthetic contrasting with Junji's sleek monochrome office is a visual treat. I also loved the location choices: Phat's home appears in several other Thai BLs, which gave it a nice 'universe' feel. Mukai Koji's stoic acting is actually a deliberate choice to show cultural difference, not a flaw. A sharp eye will catch all the clever directorial hints about who inspired who.

I came for the main couple but stayed for Bay and Phat! Judo and Fluke have such natural chemistry that I wished the show had focused more on their angsty, emotionally intense storyline instead of the sometimes-cringey fake dating missions. Their journey of a playboy falling for a guarded chef felt more grounded. The main couple was sweet, but the side couple brought the real heat. I'm excited for their spin-off!
