Daddy Love is a raw, emotionally charged Filipino BL that dares to ask if love can truly heal the deepest wounds. The story follows Kiko, a young masseur struggling to make ends meet, who crosses paths with Mark, a handsome, successful older man in his 40s. What begins as a transactional arrangement quickly blossoms into something deeper, challenging societal norms about age, class, and profession. But their journey is far from simple—Kiko carries the burden of a traumatic past, and Mark must confront his own insecurities and prejudices. As they navigate poverty, stigma, and the painful realities of being gay in a conservative society, the series explores themes of consent, HIV awareness, and the power of unconditional support. With only six episodes, Daddy Love packs a punch, offering a refreshingly mature take on romance that doesn't shy away from discomfort. It's a story about finding hope in the darkest moments and proving that true love can be a lifeline—if you have the courage to hold on.

I cried so much watching this. The way Kiko and Mark hold each other through the trauma—it's not perfect, but it's real. The age gap is handled beautifully, and I loved that the show didn't just give us a fairy tale. It made me believe love can heal even the deepest scars. Absolutely underrated gem.

I wanted to love this because the premise is important, but the execution is a mess. The editing is choppy, the lighting is inconsistent, and the ending is a rushed happy-ever-after that undermines the realism they built. Plus, the assault is mentioned and then basically ignored by the narrative. A frustrating watch that could have been great with better writing.

I appreciate that Daddy Love tackles HIV, class discrimination, and trauma, but I'm troubled by how it handles the assault and Mark's physical aggression. The choking scene is never fully addressed, and Kiko's vulnerability makes the power dynamic uncomfortable. It's a step forward for Filipino BL in terms of adult content, but it needs better follow-through on consent and accountability.

The song 'Hiling' by Drake Manatad is absolutely gorgeous and captures the longing and pain of the story perfectly. The OST alone makes this worth watching—it elevates every emotional scene. Not the most polished series, but the music gives it a soul that lingers long after the credits roll.
