Hidden is a groundbreaking Philippine BL short film that masterfully weaves a tender romance with a sensitive exploration of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). When kind-hearted Ivan meets a vulnerable, drunk young man named Dante, he instinctively stays to ensure his safety. Weeks later, Ivan is invited to Dante’s condo, where a sweet, flirtatious connection blossoms into an intimate encounter. But just as passion peaks, a sudden accident triggers a terrifying shift: Dante’s alter personality, Diego, emerges—violent, confused, and protective of secrets Ivan never knew existed. What unfolds is a raw, gripping dialogue between Ivan and Diego about identity, trauma, and the courage to love someone with a hidden psyche. The film excels at humanizing DID, showing that beneath the fractures, there is still a person deserving of affection. With its low-budget charm, compelling performances by Jesler Bernard and Jason Real, and a heartfelt message that love can bridge the most profound divides, Hidden offers an emotional, thought-provoking experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

I went in blind and was blown away by how much emotion they packed into such a short runtime. The chemistry between Ivan and Dante/Diego felt so real, and the shift in personality was genuinely chilling. Yes, the audio sync issue is noticeable, but the message about loving someone with DID is so important. Totally worth 20 minutes of your life.

I appreciate the effort to tackle DID, but the storytelling felt rushed and almost tell-not-show. The first meeting is explained in a voiceover instead of being shown, which is a missed opportunity. Also, the twist is spoiled by the title itself. Still, the actors did their best with limited resources. A decent short, but not groundbreaking.

As someone who works in mental health advocacy, I was thrilled to see a BL that handles DID with such care. Diego's explanation to Ivan about the condition is simple but accurate, and the film doesn't demonize either personality. It shows that a person with DID can still love and be loved. That alone makes this a must-watch for anyone interested in intersectional LGBTQ+ stories.

This is exactly the kind of raw, low-budget gem that makes me love Philippine BL. The kissing scene felt natural, not forced, and Jason Real's physical transformation from Dante's softness to Diego's aggression gave me chills. Yes, the production value is rough—the lip-sync issue in one shot made me laugh—but the heart is so genuine. I'll remember this one.

The background music was barely there, which is a shame because a good score could have elevated the tense moments. The dialogue scenes felt flat because of the lack of sound design. I wanted to love this, but the technical flaws (audio, lighting) pulled me out of the story repeatedly. Good concept, shaky execution.
