Set against the backdrop of a world grappling with change, *Cut* is a heartfelt Filipino miniseries that weaves together the intertwined lives of a close-knit group of friends navigating love, ambition, and the messy beauty of growing up. At its core is a tender gay romance that blossoms unexpectedly, challenging the characters to confront their fears and embrace vulnerability. With only four episodes, the series packs an emotional punch, exploring how dreams can both unite and divide, and how friendship becomes the anchor when everything else feels uncertain. What makes *Cut* special is its grounded, slice-of-life storytelling—no grand dramatics, just raw, relatable moments that linger long after the credits roll. It’s a quiet gem for those who appreciate stories about real people trying to find their place in the world, and the quiet courage it takes to love openly.

I honestly didn't expect to love this as much as I did. The main couple has such a sweet, natural chemistry—it feels like watching real friends fall in love. Sure, it's short and a little slow, but that made every stolen glance and shy smile hit harder. A cozy, feel-good watch.

I get that it's meant to be a simple slice-of-life story, but the pacing is glacial and nothing really happens until the last episode. The dialogue feels unnatural at times and the side characters are barely sketched out. I wanted to like it, but it left me bored.

For a low-budget web series, the cinematography is surprisingly pleasant. Soft lighting, warm color grading, and some genuinely beautiful shots of Manila. The production design is minimal but effective. The story is okay—nothing groundbreaking—but visually it has a quiet charm.

I appreciate that the show tries to depict a normalized gay relationship without victimhood or trauma porn. However, the communication between the leads is frustrating—there's a lot of 'I can't say it' angst that feels dated. A little more directness would have made the romance stronger and more empowering.

The soundtrack saved this series for me. The indie OPM songs perfectly capture the bittersweet mood of each scene. The main theme is stuck in my head. If only the plot had as much momentum as the music, this could have been a real standout.
