Craving is a daring 16-minute Taiwanese short film that begins as an electrifying, steamy one-night stand between a lonely, off-duty police officer and a charismatic bartender. What starts with flirtatious banter and raw, explicit chemistry inside a single apartment quickly spirals into something far darker. As the night wears on, the officer’s quiet intensity gives way to obsessive behavior, transforming a seemingly casual hookup into a claustrophobic psychological thriller. The film masterfully uses its confined setting, shifting light and shadow, and sparse dialogue to pull viewers deeper into a tense, unsettling atmosphere. While the initial encounter feels almost tenderly awkward, a shocking act of violence reshapes everything, revealing the officer’s true nature. Craving is not your typical BL romance—it’s a chilling exploration of obsession, power, and the terrifying lengths one person will go to possess another. A bold, artful work that lingers long after the credits roll.

I went in expecting a steamy hookup and got a masterclass in psychological horror. The way the camera closes in as the officer loses control is genius. The actors fully commit—the terror in the bartender's eyes feels so real. This is not for the faint of heart, but it's unforgettable.

The first eight minutes are genuinely hot and well-acted, but the second half feels like it was written for pure shock value. A security guard (or cop?) suddenly turning into a murderer with zero build-up? It's lazy writing. I wish they had committed to the romance instead of this cheap twist.

Visually stunning. The use of light and shadow is incredible—bright and warm during the flirtation, then cold and harsh as violence unfolds. The lack of music until the final scene amplifies every sound. A short film that proves you can tell a powerful story with very little space.

I appreciate the film's willingness to tackle dark themes, but the transition from consensual sex to coercion is handled without clear boundary markers, which can feel exploitative. The acting is phenomenal, and the horror is effective—but viewers need to be aware that this is not a romance; it's a depiction of obsession and violation.

I came for BL romance and got traumatized. The chemistry in the first part was so good—I was shipping them hard! Then everything turned scary and violent. I wish I had never watched it. I can't look at policemen the same way again. Do not watch if you want a happy love story.
