Set in the hallways of a Thai high school, *Complicated* is a tender and achingly real short film that dives headfirst into the turmoil of unspoken love. Following two student roommates, the story mines the quiet agony of miscommunication—where every stolen glance, every half-finished sentence, and every awkward silence speaks louder than words. As they navigate the minefield of teenage emotions, their friendship begins to crack under the weight of feelings neither dares to name. This isn't a grand, sweeping romance; it's a delicate, intimate snapshot of two hearts beating just out of sync. The film captures the universal ache of wanting to say something but watching the moment slip away. With its raw performances and a script that lingers on the unsaid, *Complicated* resonates with anyone who has ever been too afraid to break a silence that could change everything. It's a must-watch for fans of slow-burn, emotionally charged stories that feel like a gentle punch to the gut.

I am absolutely wrecked in the best way. The way they look at each other when they think the other isn't watching? That's real longing. No grand confessions, just two idiots circling each other and my heart can't take it. The acting is so natural it feels like I'm invading someone's privacy. Perfect short film for anyone who loves slow burn and aching tension.

As a short film, it's fine, but I wish the script had taken a few more risks. The miscommunication trope is handled well, but the ending feels a bit too neat and doesn't earn the emotional payoff it aims for. It's a pleasant 40 minutes, but I wanted more substance to justify the title 'Complicated.'

Visually, this film is a quiet gem. The soft, warm color grading and the way natural light falls through classroom windows and dormitory blinds perfectly mirrors the hesitant, half-lit emotions of the characters. Every frame feels intentional. The director and DP clearly understand how to tell a story through composition and silence. A feast for the eyes.

I appreciate that the film doesn't glorify pushy behavior—the leads are both clearly struggling with their own fears, and the narrative respects their boundaries. However, I wish the resolution had addressed the need for open communication more directly. Still, for a teen BL, it's refreshingly low on coercion tropes and high on mutual anxiety. Good starting point for discussions about consent in relationships.

The background score is subtle but it carries so much of the emotional weight. There's a particular piano motif that comes in during the rooftop scene—simple, repetitive, like a heartbeat. It perfectly underlines the tension. I just wish there had been an original song to match the mood. Still, the sound design is lovely and very intentional.
