Cityboy_Log: The Vacation is a tender, sun-drenched Korean BL that follows Jiho (Lee Jae Jun), a burnt-out Seoul professional forced by his doctor to take a real break. He begrudgingly books a remote seaside pension run by the warm-hearted Ha-neul (Lee Ji Han), a free-spirited photographer who lives for the moment. What starts as a clash of city efficiency versus island 'slow living' slowly blossoms into a quiet, emotional connection as Ha-neul shows Jiho the beauty of pausing—sunsets over the pier, impromptu night swims, and honest conversations under the stars. But when Jiho's past catches up with him, the vacation becomes a true test of whether he can let go and let love in. With its gorgeous coastal cinematography, minimal angst, and focus on healing through gentle romance, this 8-episode series offers a comforting escape for viewers looking for a feel-good, slow-burn love story.

I am absolutely melted. The way Jiho slowly opens up to Ha-neul, the little smiles, the accidental hand touches—it’s everything I wanted. This is my new comfort drama. The sunset scene in episode 6 made me cry happy tears.

The OST is perfection. Every time that acoustic guitar track played during their quiet moments, I felt like I was right there on the beach. The music really carries the emotional weight and makes the slow-burn feel epic.

As someone who lives for visuals, this series is a feast. The color grading is warm and nostalgic, the blocking in the café scenes is intimate without being cliché, and the drone shots of the coastline are movie-quality. A director’s cut would be amazing.

It’s cute, but really slow. The conflict from Jiho’s past is resolved too easily, and the side characters feel like props. I wanted more depth in the writing. Still, the leads carry it well enough for a light watch.

I’m here for the second couple—the grumpy café owner (Hwang Yun Je) and the shy tourist (Hong Dong Geon). They only get about three scenes total but the tension is electric. Give them a spin-off please! Main couple is cute but a bit too vanilla for me.
