When forestry officer Din (Kut Suthipong Teerasakul) stumbles upon a vast illegal smuggling operation run by the ruthless Chief Ingpha, his life—and the life of his beloved Ken (Boy Sompob Pokepoon)—shatters. After a brutal attack leaves Din presumed dead, he is saved by his sister and a brilliant surgeon, who give him a new face and the identity of a deceased Taiwanese man, Peter Lue. Returning to Thailand as a mysterious stranger in black turtlenecks and gloves, Din must navigate a world of betrayal and revenge while hiding his true self from a heartbroken Ken, who refuses to believe the man he loved is gone. As Ken increasingly clashes with the enigmatic Mr. Lue, a tangled web of secrets, dangerous investigations, and a dark criminal empire threatens to consume them both. *Chains of Heart* is a moody, action-packed thriller that blends romance, mystery, and identity crisis—a gripping if wildly chaotic ride.

I'm a sucker for anything with guns and shady forests, and this gave me plenty of that. The fight scenes are hilarious—Din literally hides behind a tiny bullet-riddled bike and then does ninja moves in the final episode. It's not KinnPorsche-level action, but I was grinning the whole time.

I wanted to love this so badly because Haii and Boom have some genuinely touching moments, but the constant choppy editing and random flashbacks ruined any emotional buildup. Ken's endless crying and getting choked made me feel bad for his neck instead of his heart. Still, the tattoo scene? I'll take what I can get.

This show is a masterclass in how not to write a mystery. I'm convinced even the writers didn't know what was happening. Why turtlenecks in Bangkok? Why a bathtub in a warehouse? Why does a random psychic appear? The ending is infuriatingly open. I'd rather rewatch KinnPorsche for the tenth time.

I can't lie—the color grading and locations are stunning. The opening credits with the heavy metal track set a cool mood. Every shot of Din in his all-black outfit against the green forest is eye candy. Too bad the story couldn't match the visuals. I felt like I was watching a gorgeous music video with a confusing narrative.

Look, I'm supposed to analyze power dynamics and identity theft, but honestly? This show is a comedy goldmine. The way Ken's friends are completely useless, the villain's cartoon laugh, and the fact that nobody can shoot Mr. Lue—it's pure camp. Yes, the consent issues with the face transplant are disturbing, but I laughed through every episode. Watch it with friends.
