Down-on-his-luck artist Jira is desperate for work when he meets Pheem, a charming IT specialist who seems like the perfect match. But Pheem leads him to Koh, a cold, calculating company president who offers Jira a strange new job: becoming the face of an AI-driven art project. As Jira is pulled into a toxic love triangle between the seemingly sweet Pheem and the emotionally unavailable Koh, he must confront his own burnout—the quiet exhaustion that erodes his art, his sense of self, and his ability to love. This is not a fluffy romance; it's a raw, artistic exploration of modern labor, the ethics of AI, and the painful truth that sometimes the people we desire most are the ones who burn us out. With stunning cinematography and layered performances, *Burnout Syndrome* is a mature, introspective drama that asks whether an artist can survive when their muse becomes their exploiter.

I went in expecting OffGun chemistry and got so much more. The way Gun plays Jira—all vulnerable defiance—and Off's cold Koh hiding a soft core just wrecked me. That bathtub kiss scene? Pure art. I know people hate the ending but I felt it was real. These two are messy and they might not work out, but the desire is electric. Dew was a surprise too—PheemJira hurt so good. Give me season 2!

I wanted to love this because the cinematography is gorgeous, but the script completely fumbles its themes. The AI subplot is introduced then abandoned. Jira says he hates Koh for stealing his art, then sleeps with him again—where's the moral? And Pheem's arc is the only one that feels earned. It's like the show was afraid to commit to its own darkness. A beautiful mess, but a mess nonetheless.

I could watch this on mute and still be captivated. The color grading is insane—Jira's warm, cluttered apartment with real plants versus Koh's cold, minimalist hotel room. Every shot is composed like a painting. The art pieces themselves are stunning (shoutout to the real artist). Even the way the framing shifts when the AI concept takes over is brilliant. If you love visuals that tell a story, this is a feast.

I appreciate that this drama tried to tackle capitalist exploitation of art and the emotional exhaustion of toxic relationships. But it loses its nerve. Jira never holds Koh accountable for literally digitizing his soul without consent. The ending feels like the show is saying 'love excuses everything,' which is dangerous. Meanwhile, Pheem's manipulation is glossed over because he's 'nice.' Good intentions, flawed execution.

I started this for OffGun but ended up completely obsessed with Dew as Pheem. That man deserved so much better. His slow unraveling—from charming to possessive to genuinely hurt—was the most compelling arc. The scene where he cleans his apartment for Jira broke me. Yes, he's a red flag, but at least he tried. The main couple felt forced; I was rooting for PheemJira until the end. Dew stole the show.
