In this heartfelt Filipino short film, Japs (Raz de la Torre) is a young photographer who lives for casual flings, avoiding any emotional attachments. When he matches with Ace (Chie Floresca), an older, charming guy on a dating app, Japs expects just another no-strings hookup. But Ace is surprisingly patient, kind, and genuinely interested in more than just a night together. As they spend time together, Japs begins to question his own fears about intimacy, discovering that real connection might be worth the vulnerability. Set against the vibrant streets of Manila, this 20-minute gem captures the awkward, sweet, and often messy journey of two people learning to let their guard down. With natural dialogue and relatable performances, *Boy Meets Man* is a tender exploration of age-gap romance, modern dating, and the courage it takes to open your heart.

I'm a sucker for age-gap romances and this one hit all the sweet spots! The way Ace looks at Japs like he's the only person in the room melted my heart. Yes, it's short, but the chemistry is so natural that I instantly believed in their connection. More please!

Decent for a 20‑minute watch, but the voiceover narration felt unnecessary and the ending was too abrupt – I couldn't tell how much time had passed. The actors did a good job with the material, but the plot needed more breathing room to sell the emotional turnaround.

For a short film, the lighting and framing were surprisingly polished. The warm tones during the rooftop scene and the soft focus on close-ups really emphasized the intimacy. It felt more like a mini indie movie than a typical web series.

I appreciated that the age gap (20 and 30) was handled without creepy power dynamics – Ace is patient and respects when Japs pulls away. The story doesn't shy away from showing how casual hookups can evolve into genuine care. A thoughtful little piece on modern queer dating.
