In this heartwarming one-episode spin-off, the Ueda family—Minoru, his brother Koji, and the adorable Tane—set off on a countryside trip to celebrate Tane's birthday, with Yutaka joining them as a newly minted member of their little clan. What should be a blissful getaway quickly turns awkward when Minoru glimpses a message on Yutaka's phone, sparking insecurity and a momentary rift. As the two navigate a quiet storm of jealousy and unspoken fears, the episode leans into the series' signature blend of gentle humor and emotional honesty. Through warm conversations, shared meals, and Tane's boundless energy, Minoru and Yutaka remember that love isn't about perfection—it's about growing together. This special offers a cozy, slice-of-life reunion that deepens the found-family bonds fans adored in the main series, proving that even the smallest misunderstandings can be resolved with patience and trust.

I missed this little family so much! The spin-off gave me exactly what I wanted: more Tane being adorable, Minoru being adorably insecure, and Yutaka's gentle reassurances. Sure, the misunderstanding is simple, but the way they talk it out is so mature and sweet. No big drama, just pure heart. I cried happy tears when they promised to grow together. Perfect comfort watch.

While I loved seeing the characters again, the cinematography in this special felt noticeably less polished than the main series. The holiday house was dated and the lighting was flat in many scenes. However, the emotional warmth still came through, and the performances are strong enough to carry it. It's a cute epilogue, just not visually memorable.

As a standalone, this special is harmless fluff. But as a follow-up to a series that was praised for its realistic relationship development, the jealousy plot feels recycled and unnecessary. The characters have grown, yet they regress into the same insecurities. The resolution is too quick and easy. Still, the acting and Tane's scenes are charming enough to keep it watchable.

I've read the manga and this spin-off stays true to the original tone—soft, domestic, and grounded. The added scene of Minoru's insecurity about his job and education was a nice touch that the manga only hinted at. My only gripe is that I wish they'd included a bit more of the physical affection from the source material, but overall it's a lovely bonus for fans.

I appreciate how this spin-off models healthy conflict resolution. Minoru doesn't lash out or shut down—he admits his jealousy and asks for reassurance. Yutaka listens, explains, and reaffirms his commitment. That's the kind of communication we need more of in BL. The low heat level might disappoint some, but I found the emotional intimacy far more impactful.
