I absolutely loved the chemistry between Lee Hoo Rim and Choi Seung Jin. Their kisses felt so real and passionate, and the way they looked at each other melted my heart. Even though the story is short, their connection is palpable. I just wish the ending was happier, but I still rewatch the intimate scenes all the time!

The first two episodes were promising with natural dialogue and good tension. But then they introduced the jealous female friend and the plot became so predictable. The ending felt rushed and unsatisfying, especially after the strong start. The leads deserved better writing. Still, the actors did their best with what they had.

Considering this is a low-budget YouTube production, the cinematography surprised me. The close-ups during intimate scenes were beautifully lit, and the use of soft focus created a dreamy atmosphere. The limited sets actually added to the claustrophobic feeling of the characters' lives. I wish they had more outdoor scenes, but the color grading was warm and inviting.

This series tackles important issues about homophobia and class disparity in South Korea. I appreciated the realistic depiction of Jae Min's fear of being outed and how that affects his decisions. However, I was uncomfortable with the coercion in the first episode - the power dynamic between the leads during their initial encounter felt ambiguous. That said, the show does a good job showing the emotional consequences of societal pressure.

The background music in Blue Boys perfectly complemented the moody atmosphere. There's a soft piano track that plays during the emotional scenes that really gets me. The opening song is catchy but I wish there were more tracks. The sound design during the kissing scenes - the heavy breathing and subtle music - made them even more intense. A solid OST for a short series.
