In the gritty underbelly of Manila's justice system, Mikey—a young, closeted gay man from an affluent family—finds himself trapped for five years in a city jail while fighting a trumped-up drug-pushing charge. To survive, he must navigate a brutal inmate hierarchy where power, money, and sexuality are currency. Struggling to maintain his dignity and conceal his identity, Mikey encounters unexpected allies, dangerous foes, and a forbidden connection that challenges everything he believes about love and survival. This raw, unflinching Filipino indie film blends romance with crime drama, offering a harrowing yet poignant look at class, privilege, and the lengths one will go to for freedom and human connection.

I came for the romance but stayed for the raw, painful truth of prison life. Mikey's journey is heartbreaking and beautiful. Yes, it's brutal, but that's what makes the moments of tenderness so powerful. Not for the faint of heart, but unforgettable.

The cinematography is decent and the performances are strong, but the pacing drags in the middle and some scenes feel gratuitous rather than necessary. The plot relies too much on shock value. A mixed bag that could have been tighter.

Important topic, but the film's handling of sexual violence is problematic. The rape scenes are depicted with little regard for consent themes or survivor perspective—they feel exploitative. The class critique is sharp, though. Watch with caution.

If you can stomach the darkness, there's a genuine love story buried here. The chemistry between the leads is unexpectedly tender amidst the horror. I wish the film had focused more on that connection than on the violence.

Overrated indie that mistakes misery for depth. Characters make baffling decisions, the legal timeline is unrealistic, and the romance feels forced. The only reason it's not lower is the brave performances. Skip this unless you're a completionist.
