When bright-eyed engineering freshman Po finally moves out of his family home to start university life, he expects independence, late-night study sessions, and maybe a few new friends. What he doesn't expect is to be assigned a dorm room with Mhee, a notoriously popular, tanned, and muscular athlete who seems to live in a completely different world. Despite their contrasting personalities — Po is neat and reserved, Mhee is messy and outgoing — an unlikely friendship begins to blossom over shared meals, accidental sleepovers, and quiet conversations. As they navigate campus life, romantic misunderstandings, and the pressure of family expectations, their bond deepens into something neither of them anticipated. Based on a beloved Thai novel, *Be My (Soul)mate* is a tender, slow-burn love story that celebrates the beauty of finding your soulmate in the most unexpected roommate. With heartfelt performances from Bank Mondop Heamtan and Mos Panuwat Sopradit, this drama is a warm hug for anyone who believes in the magic of friends becoming something more.

I fell in love with Po and Mhee from the very first episode. Their roommate banter is adorable, and the way their feelings develop so naturally made me cry happy tears. The actors have incredible chemistry — every longing glance feels real. This is exactly the kind of warm, fluffy BL I needed.

I enjoyed the main couple, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes with repetitive misunderstandings. Some side plots could have been cut to tighten the story. Also, the resolution feels a bit rushed. Still, it's a decent watch if you're in the mood for something light.

The cinematography is gorgeous — soft golden lighting in the dorm scenes, lovely outdoor shots of the campus, and the color palette really enhances the romantic mood. The director clearly put thought into every frame. Even the music video-style montages felt artistic. A visual treat.

I appreciate that the show handles consent and boundaries pretty well, especially in the early stages when Mhee is still figuring out his sexuality. There's a nice conversation about respect and not pressuring someone. However, a few trope-y moments (like the accidental kiss) could have been handled with more awareness. Overall, a positive step.
