When wealthy young master Wang Congcong hires the enigmatic Zheng Qing He as his personal bodyguard, he has no idea that the handsome protector is actually his long-lost childhood friend, Zheng Guan Yuan—a man harboring a devastating secret motive: revenge for his family's ruin. As they spend days and nights together, the electric tension between them slowly ignites into something deeper, forcing both to confront buried feelings and painful truths. But just as their connection deepens, Congcong discovers the hidden agenda behind the bodyguard's loyalty, shattering trust and leaving them torn between love and vengeance. This 2024 Chinese short-form series delivers a concentrated dose of romantic angst, secret identities, and emotional turmoil in bite-sized 3-minute episodes. Despite censorship constraints that prevent overt displays of affection, the palpable chemistry between the leads and the gripping revenge plot make 'Be Moon' a compelling watch for fans of forbidden love and slow-burn romance.

I absolutely adored the chemistry between the leads! The catch-and-stare moments and bridal carries were everything. Even though it's a short series with only 3-minute episodes, the romantic tension is palpable. It's frustrating that there's no direct confession or kiss due to censorship, but the final scene was beautifully blocked. Overall a sweet and enjoyable watch for BL fans.

The story had potential but the execution was full of logic holes. The main character drowning in a pool he could stand up in was ridiculous. Also, the constant insistence that the male lead is straight felt like a cop-out. The dad's sudden redemption at the end made no sense after all the harm he caused. Short episodes made it easy to binge, but the plot needed more care.

As a fan of the original novel 'Falling for My Enemy's', I was excited for this adaptation. The casting was decent and they captured some key moments, but they cut out a lot of emotional depth and changed the revenge plot significantly. The pseudonym reveal felt rushed. Still, it's a decent short adaptation for those who haven't read the book.

This series frustrates me. On one hand, it's a BL story from China which is rare, but the constant 'he's straight' comments and censorship that prevents any real representation of queer love are harmful. The power dynamics between rich boss and bodyguard are problematic, and the manipulation for revenge is brushed aside. I wish creators would either commit to the LGBTQ+ theme or not use it as bait. Not recommended for those seeking genuine queer stories.

The background score really elevated the emotional scenes for me. The main theme is hauntingly beautiful and fits the revenge-romance vibe. However, the comedy sound effects were jarring and took me out of the moment. I wish they had used more consistent music throughout the short episodes. Still, the OST is worth a listen.
