Billy Bayagan comes from a proud lineage of tough, no-nonsense police officers, but he harbors a secret that sets him apart: he is a closeted gay man who dreams of living authentically. In a bid to prove his worth and bring honor to his family, Billy lands a job as a personal security guard for the stunningly beautiful and wealthy Charice. As he navigates the high-stakes world of bodyguard duty, Billy's true self begins to emerge through his love for drag performance—a passion he keeps hidden from his traditional family. This Filipino gem balances laugh-out-loud comedy with heartfelt drama, exploring identity, family expectations, and the courage it takes to be your true self. With a charismatic drag queen lead and a touching romance that blossoms unexpectedly, *Barbi: D' Wonder Beki* is a vibrant, unapologetically fun celebration of queer joy and self-acceptance.

I absolutely adored Billy and Charice's dynamic—so unexpected and sweet! Jessie Lasaten brings such charm to both his guard and drag personas. The romance is cute and the comedy had me in stitches. A perfect feel-good film for a weekend binge.

The film is fun and energetic, but the plot is pretty predictable and some jokes feel recycled. Billy's family conflict resolves too neatly, and the action sequences are slapstick rather than thrilling. Still, it's a decent watch if you just want laughs and a positive vibe.

What I love most is how the film treats Billy's drag identity—not as a joke, but as a legitimate expression of his true self. The family dynamics are handled with care, and the message about coming out on your own terms is empowering. A few dated stereotypes sneak in, but overall it's very affirming.

Visually, this film pops! The drag sequences are filmed with vibrant colors and fun lighting, contrasting nicely with the more muted family scenes. The costume design for Billy's drag persona is fantastic. Not a cinematic masterpiece, but definitely a treat for the eyes.
