Set against the chaotic backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, *Ang Pokpok ng Pandemia* follows Miggy, a flamboyant and unapologetically loud gay man stuck in lockdown with his conservative family. Desperate for connection and a bit of fun, he turns to dating apps, only to stumble into a messy, hilarious, and unexpectedly tender romance with the shy and awkward delivery guy who keeps showing up at his door. What starts as a series of comedic misadventures—with nosy neighbors, video call disasters, and a meddling mother—gradually reveals a sweet, slow-burn love story about finding joy and intimacy in a world turned upside down. Despite its playful title, the series balances raunchy humor with genuine emotional beats, celebrating queer resilience and the absurdity of trying to fall in love while the world is on fire.

I went in expecting nothing but trashy fun, and honestly it delivered. The lead actor is hilariously extra, and the whole 'trying to date during quarantine' vibe felt so real. Not a masterpiece, but it made me laugh and that's all I needed.

The chemistry between the leads is actually quite sweet once you get past the first episode's cringe. The romance is underdeveloped because of the short runtime, but the quiet moments (like the video call scene) were genuinely touching. I wish it had been a bit longer.

I appreciate the attempt to capture pandemic life, but the writing is all over the place. The side characters are caricatures, and the humor relies too much on shouting and stereotypes. The lead is likeable, but the plot barely holds together. Watchable only if you're desperate for Filipino BL content.

It's nice to see a gay lead who isn't tragic or closeted, but the constant use of 'pokpok' as a joke felt a bit regressive. The pandemic setting does allow for some interesting commentary on isolation and queer loneliness. Mixed feelings—fun but could have been smarter.

Khel Cayetano carried this whole show on his shoulders! His comedic timing is perfect, and even when the script is messy, he makes every scene watchable. The ending had me smiling through my tears. If you love messy gay chaos, this is for you.
