The special finale of 'Amore: A Love to Last' delivers the heartfelt closure fans have been craving after the original series' controversial ending. Jimmy and Joey, once torn apart by family expectations and personal demons, are given a second chance to rebuild their love. But the road to reconciliation is bumpy, with old wounds reopening and new truths emerging. Meanwhile, the tight-knit friend group—including Princess—faces their own painful crossroads: tragedy, accountability, and the search for a happy ending. Set against a university backdrop, this one-hour episode balances tender romantic moments with emotional confrontations, all while wrapping up lingering storylines. The cast brings raw sincerity to every scene, especially David Cabawatan and Drei Arias, whose chemistry remains the show’s beating heart. I was so relieved they fixed the ending! Jimmy and Joey finally got the happy ending they deserved after that awful priest cliffhanger. The special was a bit rushed but the chemistry was still there—I cried happy tears. Thank you for this closure!

The special tried to patch up the mess of the original series but it was too little, too late. Princess's storyline was handled terribly—she gets engaged to her ex after her child dies? That's not redemption, that's nonsense. And the rushed pacing didn't help. Still, I'm glad the main couple got a better send-off.

While I'm glad they gave Jimmy and Joey a proper resolution, I can't ignore how the show glosses over Princess's abandonment of her child and her irresponsible behavior. The special didn't address the lack of accountability, and the ending felt like a cheap fix. Not recommended for viewers who care about responsible storytelling.

Visually, the special was a step up from the original series. The lighting and framing were more cinematic, and the intimate scenes between the leads were beautifully shot. Too bad the narrative couldn't match the visual quality—still, a decent watch for the aesthetics alone.
