Set against the rustic charm of a family-run restaurant in Ilocos, *All the Things I Leave You* serves up a poignant blend of romance, family secrets, and self-discovery. When privileged rich kid Andrei (Jade Castro) is forced to work alongside street-smart newcomer Marco (Benedix Ramos) at his grandmother's eatery, sparks fly — but not the romantic kind. Their clashing worlds collide until they stumble upon a hidden, decades-old love story buried in the restaurant's past. As they piece together letters and photographs left behind, Andrei and Marco begin to see their own struggles reflected in that forbidden romance, gradually learning that love, loyalty, and legacy are not what they seem. This one-episode Filipino gem weaves a tender dual-narrative, celebrating food, family, and the courage to love openly across generations. With stunning Ilocos landscapes and heartfelt performances, it’s a slow-burn emotional feast that will leave you craving more.

I was completely swept away by Andrei and Marco's journey. The way they went from snapping at each other to sharing quiet, meaningful looks under the Ilocos sun felt so authentic. That final scene at the restaurant? I cried — it's rare to see a BL that balances generational pain with such tender hope. Jade and Benedix are magic together.

The emotional beats are strong, but the single-episode runtime makes the present-day relationship feel rushed. The flashbacks are beautifully shot, but I wish we'd gotten more time with the older couple's story. Also, Marco's street-smart backstory is hinted at but never fully explored. Still, it's a pleasant watch if you don't mind a bit of narrative skipping.

Visually, this is a feast. The golden-hour shots of the restaurant, the weathered letters, the way light filters through the vines — every frame feels like a painting. The color grading shifts between warm sepia for the past and soft cool tones for the present, telling half the story without words. Absolute eye candy for anyone who loves indie film aesthetics.

I appreciated how the show handled class dynamics and internalized homophobia without being preachy. Andrei's privilege is gently challenged, and Marco's vulnerability is respected. The reveal of the past romance — left unspoken for decades — speaks volumes about the weight of societal expectations. My only critique is that a longer format could have deepened the conversation about intergenerational queer acceptance.

The score is subtle but devastating. There's a recurring guitar melody that plays during the flashback scenes — it gave me chills every time. The ending credits song (I think it's an original Filipino ballad) perfectly captures the bittersweet warmth of the story. I've already added it to my playlist. If you're a music person, pay close attention to the restaurant ambiance sounds too; they're used brilliantly.
